Smoke alarm inquiry calls for mandatory photoelectric alarms

A Queensland man whose three granddaughters and daughter-in-law died in a house fire has backed calls for photoelectric alarms to be made mandatory.

The same inquiry was also brought to light following Australia’s worst house fire in which 11 people were killed at Slacks Creek, south of Brisbane, a coroner recommended compulsory photoelectric smoke alarms in November 2014.
